I was pleasantly surprised about how entertaining the olympics have been so far. I usually talk shit about the winter olympics, like I do about hockey and soccer. But after numerous speed skating and luge accidents, and something called moguls, I would call the winter olympics a success so far.
My one complaint is that it’s too cold. We need to find a way to perform these events in a climate that is more suitable for the women to wear bikinis like beach volleyball. I wanted to see some women compete in the moguls competition in bathing suits with limited support… bouncy bouncy bouncy!
Couldn’t SI do the winter olympic all bikini team in their swimsuit edition this month? I need to know who all the undercover hotties are in the winter olympics before they are covered up by layers of warm clothing!
Houston Texans – A man got 25 years for robbing Dunta Robinson in 2007. I wonder how many years Robinson would have gotten for stealing money from the Texans if Rick Smith had given him the deal he wanted?
Houston Cougars - Joe Curl was hospitalized for chest pains in Dallas after the Women’s victory over SMOO. The men also topped SMOO at home, but if the men win a game that no one watches does anyone care? The sad part is that our home crowds are competing with the New Jersey Nets.
Rice Owls - Fell to 1-9 in conference against the USM Golden Eagles. Does UH play Rice again? I hope they do and Rice wins so that Penders is gone fo sho.

So I watched a little bit of the Basketball game on channelsurfing.net. I guess I was the only one watching it because the first 5 rows of seats were empty all the way around.
So…surprisingly…and happily, the Texas to the Big 10 rumors are still going strong. Texas stands to make hundreds of millions of dollars…so maybe it will happen. And maybe they will take their maroon butt buddies with them.
So…Coogball bricks 68% of their shots against SMOOOO and the diehards are still thrilled that Penders has given us a few 20-win seasons? Wow.
If Coogfans wants to know why the on-court product has no following, there you have it. That’s not even touching the 25% showing against UCF…people have better things to do than toss money at that.
Out of 334 ranked teams, Coogball is #244 in FG%, 306 in opponent FG%, 302 in scoring defense, and a MIGHTY 330(!) in rebounding margin, topping the mighty bunch of Alcorn State, College of Charleston, UMBC, and VMI…at least when Coogfans tells us to support Penders and Co., we’re supporting one of the more fundamentally sound ballclubs out there with taht sterling offense and defense. As for these Olympics, Mens Hockey or STFU. I know Canada is all about political correctness as my trip to Toronto showed me, so I can at least laugh off their sucking up to the natives on Friday. If I want to watch lady Canada beating whomever 10-1 on the ladies side, I’ll start embracing womens basketball and UCONNs 64 game winnings treak that ESPN so dearly wants us to give a rat’s ass about.

On hoops, I went and made the dozen a baker’s, and I enjoyed it the way one enjoys watching a sunset. Of course, one expects the sun to set in that case. Instead of expecting the Coogs to beat the Racisties, I just expected the game to end eventually. Still, it was pleasant enough.
Then, a buddy that supported/fondled cheerleaders at KU (when he was a student there) invited me to make a trip to Aggieland and see real college basketball. It’s much stranger that aTm is a basketball school than it is that we have to drive up there to see a decent game these days. That settled it. If Billy Clyde can grease the wheels with his slime trail and make Aggies care about anything that doesn’t involve grass, burning things, or self-inflicted scrotal mutilation; then he’s welcome to bring his bag of AAU “relationships” and the violations they come with to Cullen.
Now, if we can just discover oil while putting in the goal post at the new stadium near 45, we’ll have enough money to fix the Hof. And if Zach finds a pond with ducks on it, I’ll be there with a dog and a 12 guage. Then I’m going to “Screech” Kelly to teach him a lesson.

Yah, I am going to go ahead and ‘big-ups’ to Chadly for calling FaF out. While Stacey was pretty much a no-factor in the Rox lately, he still is the biggest thing to happen in town for at least the last week.
That is unless someone on the FaF crew is saving up for a ‘huge’ “Tiger Woods is talking to the media” story…

So, the Rox raided the Knicks (if that means anything) and got rid of McGrady’s lazy ass all in one fell swoop. And we thought we wouldn’t get anything for McGrady. Wrong Realists…we’re living in Daryl Morey’s reality, and the man is a genius…in a Pipez sort of way…not to aggrandize Pipez too much, but the FAF would have been dead 6 months ago instead of now, if not for Pipez. Not to mention this move enables the Knicks to dump McGrady at the end of the year and bring in Lebron, saving us all from having to endure Cavs games any longer. Now the New York media can spend the next 8 years convincing us Lebron is better than Michael Jordan. Because he plays in New York of course. AND…as if that wasn’t enough, it means we can renew our long lost rivalry with the Knicks because in this scenario we will undoubtedly meet in the NBA Finals. The Rox get Jordan Hill, the Knicks’ first round draft pick from ’09 (8th overall) and a 20 ppg 2 guard, Kevin Martin (not the original 50 Cent, Kelvin Martin, or the basketball player you’ve actually heard of, Kenyon Martin). We lose the tumor that played all of 9 minutes this season (BJ’s Brewery will now go out of business), and Carl Landry who has maxed out his ability and could not even go through a McDonald’s drive though without getting shot. How this deal even happened is nothing short of miraculous. It’s even more exciting than the day the Rockets brought TMac to town.
I think that it is funny, all of your ROX talk and you didn’t ONCE mention Yao Ming. Without him, this team goes no damn where…Kevin Martin, Kenyon Martin, whoever…
He has been good when healthy, but that is the crux of the problem there…he could slip on some chinese noodles and fracture 7 bones, season over….AGAIN. What to do with Yao? You obviously hope that he is something comparable next year to what he was in previous, un-injured years, but for how long? Young and scrappy only gets you so far…Yao is neither of these.
Maybe that’s because I’m not sold on the idea that Yao Ming will ever play professional basketball again.
So basically, what you have just told me is…that the Rockets will be ‘non-contenders’ in the West until they actually sign another marquee player?
Last year was some weird fluke and has (as unfortunate as it may be) given false hope to all of Rocket-dome. The landscape of this team will have to change dramatically before it could make any noise out West, similar to the ‘Stros…
I read something crazy, All of Houston ping-ball is a combined 0-11, with Rice even going 0-3 in its first series.

Astros players reported to camp today…practice starts tomorrow. Astros won their arbitration hearing with Wandy Rodriguez and will pay him 5 mil this year instead of 7.
So fear not…Even though Humberto Quintero wants to be your every day catcher this Astros’ season…Jason Castro (10th overall pick in ’08, .300 BA, 73 RBIs in the minors in 446 At Bats in 2009) is the hopeful to be the every day catcher this season. Castro is probably the brightest young prospect the Astros have. If he can carry his success up to the major league level, a productive young catcher would be the cornerstone of the Astros’ youth movement. Bourne, Pence, Norris, and Castro have the potential to be the future of the Astros.

Maybe this is exactly the boost of confidence that the pingball team needed to hit it hard this year.
There were a lot of UT lapdawgs there also…a lot more than UofH’ers…but in the end the Good Guys prevailed.
