It’s basketball season already!?!

Battle of the fuglies.
The post title is from a Lil Flip song. The foreward is from the wife of our former lawyer, Shane Shamwow, when she walked in on him watching the preseason game last night. You damn right it’s basketball season, already. We’ll do a full season preview later this month (or maybe I’ll get lazy and won’t), but in the interim here are several questions I have about the team, based on the summer and last night.
- Scola can carry the scoring load, and he does it in such a low-impact way that I can see him doing it until he’s 35. What happens when defenses scheme to specifically stop him?
- Will Chase Budinger ever miss a shot? Will we forgive him for headbutting Aubrey Coleman in the foot? Will we forgive him for being nicknamed Smooth Jazz? On a more serious note, can Budinger get his own shot off against NBA-level talent?
- How many 20-rebound games will we give up this year? DeJuan Blair is a special rebounder, but I can think of 10-12 guys that are going to kill us off the top of my head.
- Can Trevor Ariza get his own shot? I’m super-excited about watching him develop.
- David Andersen looked like he was trying on defense and that should count for something, I suppose. Playing with the second team against other second teams, is his deft touch going to be a plus, or lack of defensive skillz going to keep him on the bench except for garbage time?
- Will Shane Battier exploit his sneaky-good jump hook? It’s got a good ROI.
- At some point, teams will start releasing players upon shot to get back on defense to counter Brooks and Lowry’s speed. How will the halfcourt work?
- Is this the year Carl Landry makes The Leap? Not an actual leap, per se – he does that quite often.
- Is El Rat going to strangle Jermaine Taylor to death after 15 consecutive missed shots? The guy looks and plays like DeJaun Wagner. Bad news, that one.
- How about Pops Nambla-Bonsu or Joey Dorsey? We need a big. Can’t Rick Adelman put Dorsey in twice per game just to mix it up, like the goons in hockey? I’m sorry to everyone for mentioning hockey.
- Over/under for games McGrady plays at a relatively high level – 45.5?
- Why are the women in our lives (mine included) ok with us watching 10 hours of football on the weekend, but hate one game of basketball? Because they don’t like black people. Or Argentinians. Or New Zealanders. Or whatever Pops N-B is. They’re nativists like Daniel Day Lewis’ gang in Gangs of New York.
- Can the Rockets salvage this season, grow their young talent, squeak into the playoffs, and give us hope for the future?

It’s Pops Mensa-Bonsu… I couldn’t tell if you knew that and were just joking about his name or not.
Someone’s always gotta try to ruin a perfectly awesome “NAMBLA” joke.
So I’m waiting for a meeting to start at 4 and checkin’ the stats, bro, and noticed we have a spam filter with a lot of spam. So of course I’m interested and start poking around. I think this one should have been let through:
Good night .
I have something to say, about aloevera, something about which you wrote above, about health and personal care… For a long time, I and my fine friend use the products of the FLP Company. We many times see the good results and also we make money for our families and we are happy. My friend works with aloevera in the company of forever living has more than 5 years (My friend works ONLY in the forever living products and has a wife and three children). I know Aloe vera products for beauty for a long time, but a year ago, began working as a distributor in the flp.
Of course, job is so hard, but in no other case, you can earn so much money with so much much fun and smiling faces around..
So if you want to discuss something about your article, and about my experience with AloeVera products for nutritional, I’ll always be glad to talk.
Best regards from Washington state and have a nice day!
Andrew – Aloe Vera Distributor
Andrew’s right. I use forever living products and I haven’t died yet. Or yet.
I wonder how fine this friend is? Oh wait, it is a dude. Now Chad can say this is the gayest post since Monday.
the healing powers of aloe are undeniable. it can even serve as a lubricant. nothing gay about that.
