TRG’s Best of E3

This is the last video game post I’ll do for about a month (the Fight Night Round 4 review, and Goldfish and I have already decided it will be awesome. Actually he could care less about sports titles – I have to bribe and cajole him to do the reviews). But E3 last week was the biggest thing of the year, so here are my pics for Best of E3, mostly to tick off Rex some more. Maybe Scott and Holman will hire me when he buys the rest of my contract out (what is 28% of $0?). Know this, Scott and Holman – I’m allergic to cats, have a serious superiority complex, and some times I interrupt blogging to do work at my actual job. I just don’t want there to be any surprises so we have a smooth integration hostile takeover. On to the list…

Star Wars The Old Republic- Holy Shnikes this is the coolest thing I’ve ever seen in my life. And with Bioware behind it, you know it will deliver the goods. I doubt the game itself looks this good, but anything approximating this trailer is going to lower our national GDP by 28% for at least a year. Just watch this, and thank me later:

God of War 3 – I promised myself no sequels would make this list, and then I immediately broke the promise. Goldfish informs me that the first God of War had a sex mini-game. Well, then. Behold, and cower, ye mortals:

Modern Warfare 2 - ZOMG. Also called “Call of Duty 6.5″, this game looks awesome and in fact will play awesome, since it looks like CoD 4 with a few tweaks and a great face lift (to a face that was already beautiful).

Red Steel 2 – The first game ever that made me Wii-jealous. Yes, I’m jealous of another man’s Wii. The actual demo looked pretty cool, but are they making it sans bloodto appease every parent that bought their kid a Wii? Or have they just not added that stuff yet? Hopefully this game will be rated “M” for “mf-ing blood and guts”. One can only hope. This “not cursing” phase is very hard for me.

Castlevania- I LOVE the 80s revival that has been going on for the last 3-ish years. Transformers are back. GI Joe is back. My Little Pony is probably just around the corner. And now Castlevania? I’ve never been so happy to hawk someone else’s product. Going 80s nostalgic is a marketer’s dream – they can be lazy and watch the dollars roll in. The dollars that I will happily give them.

  1. yeah, I really liked KOTOR and KOTOR 2. Looks like this will be better. I may have to upgrade my desktop again.

    • Agreed. KOTOR is in my top 3 of all-time.

    • They make great games. If they added the “knock the vase off the bed-table” mini-game it’d be perfect.
