Happy Mother’s Day, Mom. I know I forgot to get you a card or a present or a flower petal even, but I’m writing this blog for you. I know you’re impressed. This is basically the coolest present ever. And you know what? Just because it’s for you I promise not to curse or talk about my genitalia. Isn’t this way better than that gold bracelet that Dad got you?
The one where “I don’t sportz” for an entire day.

I'm hoping that the Rockets cheerleaders distract you from the words below.
It’s over. The dream is over. Even though Ron-ron initially said that Houston could keep the dream alive.
I’m sorry, did you come to Fourth and Fifty for the light at the end of the tunnel? That wasn’t smart. We’re bloggers. We’re extremists. We’re the worst bandwagon jumpers you’ve ever met. You should know that by now.
But, perhaps this time we’re just being realists… With Yao Ming out for the rest of the playoffs the Rockets chances just went from 50/50 to 5/95. Chucky Hayes, Carl Landry and Luis Scola are going to have a hell of a time replacing two big men (Yao and Dikembe Mutumbo). That’s a tall order… A seven foot, six inch order (get it?!).
All that being said, I think the Rockets are going to pull out a surprise win tonight (/crosses fingers).
On to you’re other Houston sports updates:
TEXANS – I’m at a loss here. Nothing is going on. The damned Draft still has a majority of the headlines. So, I present to you this calendar shoot. You. Are. Welcome.
ROCKETS – Game starts at 2:30 today. Cross. Your. Fingers.
ASTROS – Rallied in the 8th to make it past the Padristas. Won. Last. Night.
DYNAMO – Houston moved their win streak from two to three games last night with a win over FC Dallas. Ade. Akinbiyi. Awesome.
