May 6th: Houston Sports FaF Smear (and NBA Playoffs)

The one where we wish everyone a happy Seis de Mayo!

Don't mess with the 'do.

Don't mess with the 'do.

A night after both high-seeded teams lost on their home court the Nuggets and Cavaliers reversed that trend.  Cleveland edged out Atlanta by (yikes) twenty-seven points.  Lead by no-name star LeBron (sp?) James, the upstart team from the “mistake by the lake” put the wood to the well established Hawks of Atlanta.

Denver let the Dallas Mavericks make it a little more interesting but still ended up beating the Big “D” by double digits, 117 to 105.  Dirk Notwitski’s thirty-five points couldn’t save Dallas in the end.  If I had just pulled the trigger I would have been another pick ahead in the Streak.  I got scared away.  I’m man enough to admit that.

After that riveting commentary on the National scene, let’s move on to the Houston sports updates:

TEXANS - How is there nothing new about the Houston Texans in the news?  Google still has Could the Texans Bubble Collapse as the first story.  I did some investigative journalism yesterday, but I guess I will do it again.  Yes.  Yes the Texans bubble could collapse.

ROCKETSFINISH HIM!  I’m not writing anything at all about the Rockets in the hopes of avoiding any jinx whatsoever.

ASTROS - The only way that the Houston Astros can avoid losing is by suspending the game.  The ‘Stros and Nats are all tied up at ten in the eleventh inning.  A tie, perhaps?  Mr. McNabb, what are your thoughts on this tie situation?

COLLEGE BASEBALL UPDATESI need to go get some coffee.  This slow day sucks.
