The man on the left, Manny Pacquiao is an athlete. In case you missed it, Pacquiao knocked out Ricky Hatton with a left hook, in the second round, last night for the junior welterweight title. Manny has won titles in six different weight classes. He basically destroys whoever is in his path. I wouldn’t fight him, at least not for free. I definitely would let him knock me out for $8 million, that’s how much Hatton earned for the bout. For me an athlete is someone that has proven themselves in the sport, and when you look at them you don’t say, “I think I could beat this guy”.
The man on the right, Brian Scalabrine is an athlete? Scalabrine has proven himself in basketball. He’s been in the NBA since 2001, won a championship with the Celtics last year, and is currently getting $3.2 million a year (thanks wikipedia). So he plays like an athlete, but he just looks like some regular Joe that you would play a game of pick up basketball with. He also looks like the guy you wouldn’t really want to guard because he would be sweating so profusely he should be wearing a ShamWow tank top.
