The one where we are going to retire Michael Murphy’s Blog link into the Hall of Fame.

Whyyyyyyyyyyy?!
The Rockets continued their trend of futility against the Jazz in Utah last night. They lost 99-86 in Salt Lake City. It seems like every time I turn around Houston’s traveling to Utah to lose. I just don’t get it. They traded in Stockton and Malone years ago for Williams and Boozer. Are you telling me they’re of the same caliber?
With the loss the Rockets relinquished first place in the division back to the Spurs who (barely) beat the Warriors last night. Nobody wants to be king of the mountain? Is this some sort of underdog complex that Houston suffers from? I don’t except that. Even Underdog could fly (but, damn he needed to get that spandex tailored).
Just please, please, please, stay near the top of the West standings. I can’t handle having to play Utah in the first round again this year. I won’t watch. I can’t watch. And, I don’t want to see quotes like this anymore:
“We’re confident in us, no matter who we play,” said Deron Williams, who led the Jazz with 19 points and 12 assists. “We’ve beat them the last two years in the playoffs in the first round, so if we have to go up against them again, we like our chances.” – Salt Lake Tribune
Three more weeks left of regular season basketball, Rockets. Remember what we just talked about or I’ll haunt your dreams.
Here are the rest of your Houston sports updates:
Texans: Toro is an advocate of eating healthy and goring someone in the abs fitness. He visited some elementary school on his Segway (boo for spelling). Yes, I have resorted to posting links about Toro the mascot. Don’t judge me. I’m sure it was a thrill for the kids. It’s all about the kids.
Rockets: I’m watching you. Even when you think I’m not. But, not in a creepy voyeur way…
Astros: So is it Cecil Cooper’s comments of having a 90 win season or the addition of Pudge Rodriguez to the line-up that has inspired the Astros to start winning spring training games? Eh, does it matter? The Houston Astros beat the Florida Miami(?) Marlins yesterday 10-8.
UH Cougars: Just in case you missed it, Blake Joseph will not be on the Cougar roster for next year. QuarterB’s don’t like lining up as wide outs as much as I thought. I only post this because it seems to be Michael Murphy’s last article for the Houston Comical Chronicle. For now I’m boycotting the publication.
Rice: MK Bower got canned too… I would advise a similar boycotting protest.
Amateur Sports: I want to scream it from the roof tops! I love my best friend Evan. I mean… our very own reader, Big Hitter, made a hole-in-one last Friday(?) at Memorial Golf Course with a 2 hybrid on the seventh hole. Congrats, bud. Can you scan it when it runs in the physical paper so I can put it up on my refrigerator? I’ll think of you every time I order Pink’s Pizza (and the Rockets should be thinking of ME waiting for THEM out in the parking lot).

My fellow Eisenhower Middle School alum just called scoreboard on the Rock-ettes. Although Williams might have given their playoff strategy away in trying to get a seed that matches up with the Rock-ettes
Rice also beat Lamar in beisbol in extra innings. They care about it, and we should be proud of them, like when your nerdy little brother wins the geography bee
Did you grow up in Inwood? I was a member there (at the hood) from March, 2000 until they closed the golf course. :sadbanana:
What city are we talking about here? If it’s San Antonio, then I grew up in the neighborhood next to Inwood, but they never had a course
Opps, my bad – Eisenhower HS and MS are here in AISD and close to the hood.
close to the hood? what’s that supposed to mean… Granted I am about as hood as it gets, fool.
Inwood Forest = “the hood”, in golf parlance, of course ;)
I did make one ace out there and walking 9 after work 3-4 days a week inspired me to get a CHL.
