The Houston Rockets entered the game tonight against the Indiana Pacers 6-4 of their last 10 games. The Pacers on the polar opposite of this being 4-6 in their last 10 played. The Rockets 3 game win streak unfortunately came to an end tonight, no thanks to the officiating of Tony Brothers.
NBA Referee Tony Brothers managed to cool the Rockets off in the 2nd quarter with a series of bad calls. The first of which was a horrible offensive hooking foul called on Yao Ming. The replay clearly showed that Yao was fouled first by Troy Murphy, with a swimming foul, causing Yao to hook. The foul was so egregious, that Rick Adelman was called for a Technical Foul for contesting it with the officials later. In addition to this, Luis Scola was called for multiple fouls to later foul out of the game. Yao didn’t have a chance to let Tony Brothers foul him out because he had to leave the game due to a knee injury.
My question is: Does Tony Brothers have it out for the Rockets, or does he just not like foreigners? He probably doesn’t even like the band Foreigner. (In case you didn’t know Yao is from China and Scola is from Argentina) Does anyone else remember game 2 of the playoffs for the Rockets last year? That’s right, it was Tony Brothers that called an offensive foul on Luis Scola after Kirilenko FLOPPED, negating a game tying 3 pointer by Bobby Jackson. Tracy McGrady later criticized the foul, which probably only deepened Tony Brother’s disdain for the Rockets.
I would like to think there isn’t a racist referee that has it out for the Rockets, so I began to think that maybe Tony just likes calling fouls. However, I really think it was a combination of one additional factor that did the Rockets in. Almost all of the Indiana Pacers have been growing mustaches. Do you know who else has a mustache? That’s right, Tony Brothers! He obviously has a bias in favor of teams that have mustaches like his own (some kind of secret mustache society).
Apparently the Rockets are in for a tough night whenever they take the court with Tony officiating the game. It’s hard to win when the referee is biased against your team for not having mustaches and disliking players from foreign countries.

The Secret Mustache Society is a better theory than the magic bullet. Why do you think Sptiz was so successful?
Where do the eyebrows end and the mustache begin? Is he bringing the pornstache back? I think so. It is hard to officiate a game when you have that “bow-chicka-wow-wow” music playing in your head.
[...] Rockets: The Odom-less Lakers will be in town tonight. Honestly it was a pretty lame fight that he gets the suspension for, but you can’t leave the bench. Just ask the Suns… It wasn’t so long ago that the refs effed them over with that rule against the Spurs in the playoffs. No doubt it was Tony Brothers’ fault. [...]
