Half Time and a New Beginning

As we sit here watching the waning minute of the first half of the NFC Championship Game it’s hard to imagine that the Eagles have much of a shot of turning the ship around.  Apparently, they forgot the defensive playbook at the hotel and McNabb forgot that he doesn’t have a premier receiver lining up wide.  But, all that is for naught.

This is about a new beginning.  A new chapter of life.  A new blog.

We’ve already heard from Pipez and Reginald Blackstone.  Soon, the final major contributor will rear his ugly avatar and join the ranks of Fourth and Fifty.  Allow us to introduce ourselves…

I transplanted from Philly almost a dozen years ago the same year that the Philly (and world over) beloved Barkely put on a Rockets jersey.  My loyalty to the Eagles has never really faltered.  The same is true for the Flyers.  But, all other Houston sports entities have taken the highest priority.   Which means they are the the most prominent target to my disdain and broken-heartedness (we make up words around here) when it comes to me living my life through the sports accomplishments of our fair city.

Perhaps this will all come as a good omen for a city waiting for success.  Honestly though, who wants that?  More fodder for the flame when despair and dissappointment are most prominent.  Not “2008 Lions” dissappointment, but “mediocre fledgling in the middle of the standings” stuff.  What’s more fun than that?  Being one step away from the bottom of the pile and at the same time being a personnel move from being a contender makes things a bit more interesting.

Let the blogs begin…

Oh, and bench McNabb and bring in Kolb.  What better time than now to begin the career of a noted hog slayer?
